Round 6: Day 00: The Beginning

I'm geared up to commence Round 6 on Sunday. This will be an extension of Round 5, using a similar schedule. The schedule will be based on the 90 day P90X routine, broken down into three phases. Phases 1 and 2 will each consist of 3 weeks of workouts, followed by a Recovery Week. Phase 3 will consist of 4 weeks of workouts, followed by a Recovery Week.

The workouts will be a hybrid of P90X, P90X Plus, One on One with Tony Horton, and Shaun T's Insanity. Days 1, 3 and 5 will be Resistance days, with particular emphasis on chest, arms, back and shoulders. Days 2 and 6 will be Cardio (Insanity) days, which will also work my legs, so I've deleted a specific resistance day for legs. Day 4 will be Yoga, and Day 7 will be a rest day, where I'll forego any exercise whatsoever.

This approach seemed to be working nicely for me during Round 5, but I never felt that I was capable of mastering the Insanity workouts. My goal for this Round will be to improve in that respect. I'll also be paying more attention to my nutrition, to see whether I can shed some remaining excess fat around my middle. I'm not complaining; I'd just like to tighten up my mid-section even more.

Bring It!
